Aims and Objectives

Dungannon Primary School promotes high achievement and learning for life by working with children to:

manage staff, resources and pupils in order to provide the most appropriate learning opportunities for each child

provide opportunities for the professional development of all members of staff.

make children autonomous learners.

provide opportunities to learn using all of the intelligences:

spiritualist; linguistic; logical mathematical; visual spatial; bodily kinesthetic; musical; 

intra-personal; inter-personal; emotional and naturalist.

recognise that children have different learning styles:

 visual; auditory; and kinesthetic.

provide differential learning opportunities.

enable pupils to perform to the best of their ability.

ensure that children become independent learners.

provide a stimulating learning environment which makes full use of modern learning strategies.

foster good relationships within the school, in order to create a happy secure environment for effective learning and teaching.

ensure continuity and progression from P1-P7 by taking into account the diverse ages, interests and abilities of the pupils.

Mission Statement

Dungannon Primary School aims to provide a high quality education in a happy and caring working environment, where the potential of each individual can be realised.

We wish to promote life-long learning by:

Providing opportunities for personal development;

Promoting such values as will make each individual a caring and responsible citizen; and

Encouraging individuals to develop to their full potential, while promoting moral values and respect for one another

All members of staff will work towards promoting these values and ensuring a child-centred approach in which caring is a shared responsibility of all staff.
